Filip Eremita
I’m Filip Eremita, a guy in his mid-thirties, based in California, a place often called a wellness hub. For me, wellness isn’t a trend but a way of life, thanks to my parents. I have grown up seeing my mother practice yoga every morning since her twenties. And my father? I have always seen him trying his hand at all kinds of sports, be it soccer, tennis, or just running.
Their influence shaped both my brother and me. He loves ball games at school. And me? I make sure to work out every single day, sometimes it is yoga, other times it is weightlifting, and when the weather feels nice, I just go out for a run.
Well, the wellness in my home wasn’t just restricted to working out; it extended beyond, as my mum’s focus was always on feeding us nutritious, homemade food. I will be honest, I wasn’t a great fan growing up, but I realised its importance once I moved to a different city for work.
Cooking was just one part of the struggle; I was more surprised by the kind of lifestyle people around me lived. Many struggled to find time for a proper meal. They often relied on fast food or skipped meals altogether. Exercise was treated as optional, squeezed in only when convenient, and rest was rarely prioritized.
Watching this unfold around me was eye-opening. I had always thought of wellness as something natural, almost effortless, because of the way I was raised. But here, I saw how easily it could be neglected when life became busy and demanding. That contrast made me reflect deeply: if wellness was the foundation of my own growth, why was it so absent in the lives of so many others?
This realization didn’t just stay with me; it sparked action. I wanted to bridge the gap between awareness and practice, so I began blogging. Through my writing, I share the habits I follow myself, insights from my surroundings, and lessons from my experiences. My goal is simple: to remind people that wellness isn’t about perfection, but about care and intention.
